The Promise of Spring

The presence of spring,

Yields the outcome of promise.

Mind is cluttered, grey,

Yet, the spring sky is clear, blue.

Body seems exhausted, dead,

Yet, the young birds chirp with new life.

Hands shaking with anxiety, too,

Yet, the crisp, pollinated air moves slow.

Emotions closed off, timid,

Yet, the silk flower petals open to the world.

Faith seeming penetrable, weak,

Yet, the bark of the trees stand strong.

Difficult to turn off the mind, sleep,

Yet, the nightly raindrops produce a tranquil sound.

The bitter feeling of cold, icy snow,

Yet, it turns to morning and evening dew.

Heavy, winter clothes bringing sorrow,

Yet, now, the bright sun warms the skin.

The rise of a new hope,

Blue, live, slow, open, strong, tranquil, melted and warm, (20)

Bringing renewal.

The presence of spring,

Yields the outcome of promise.
