Best Coffee Shops in Cincinnati!

Calling all coffee addicts! I’ve compiled some of the top-rated coffee shops in Cincinnati, some which are near SUA! Do you need some fuel on your way to school? Maybe you need a snack and some caffeine after school. I’ve got you covered! These coffee shops have hours that will work with your school schedule.

1. Urbana Café

Urbana is located just down the street from SUA on Woodburn Ave. It is a very urban and modern environment, hence the name, and is a perfect spot to catch up on homework or hang out with friends with both outdoor and indoor seating available. Urbana Café opened in 2013 and has been donating some of its profits to dog rescues since. Not only do they give back to animals, they also allow dogs to come into their shop for a treat! Coffee and dogs – what’s better than that?

2. Coffee Emporium

Coffee Emporium is my personal favorite coffee shop in Cincinnati; I’m even willing to make the 35 minute drive from my house for a cold brew. This is a very well-known spot in Cincinnati; therefore, it is always busy, but the wait is worth it! They opened their doors in 1973 and began purchasing their coffee directly from farmers from Central and South America, Africa, and Indonesia. There are two locations: one in Downtown Cincinnati and another in Hyde Park. They have a seasonal drink menu as well as many healthy, vegetarian-friendly lunch and breakfast options!

3. The Fix Coffeehouse & Bar

The Fix Coffeehouse & Bar is a coffee and pastry shop located in East Walnut Hills and is only a 5 minute drive from SUA. They serve coffee from Coffee Emporium, and their pastries are made by 16 Bricks and Fork and Pie Bakery! This is a great place to get your morning coffee and breakfast if you are on the go! While coffee is served throughout the day, this establishment turns into a bar by night, so make sure to get there early.

4. Deeper Roots Coffee

Deeper Roots Coffee is located on Madison Road in Oakley. It is the perfect place to sit down with your friends and catch up on homework or just hang out, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Deeper Roots Coffee was established in 2011 with one of its viewpoints being sustainability. That being said, they sell their ground coffee in biodegradable bags to minimize environmental effects of coffee packaging. Like Coffee Emporium, Deeper Roots Coffee also recognizes the importance of building relationships with their coffee producers. They communicate with their clients in order to pay their farmers fairly for the quality of their goods, promoting sustainability and economic equality.
