Dawg Squad 2019

Saint Ursula Academy’s senior class of 2020 has brought so much energy to athletic games this fall season. Dawg Squad 2020, a group of senior school representatives, have amped up the spirit and student attendance at sports games.

Every member is encouraged to go to as many of SUA’s sporting events as they can, and the girls on the squad work together and communicate new ideas to make games more fun!

One of the Dawg Squad coordinators who has taken initiative to make school spirit stronger is senior Elle Lovdal. Elle says, “The best thing about Dawg Squad is the relationship of its members. Everyone is inclusive and supportive. Even though Dawg Squad is made up of only seniors, all grade levels feel comfortable and participate in school spirit.” Lovdal adds that the environment is fun, positive, and welcoming. Dawg Squad is not only an opportunity to cheer on the SUA teams; it also provides “a great opportunity to meet new people, hang out with friends, and teachers outside of the classroom.”

This year's Dawg Squad has completely changed SUA’s spirit and encouraged so many more of the girls’ to attend sporting events. Elle announces, “Numerous coachees and faculty members have told me that this is the most school spirit they’ve seen at SUA and some of the biggest student sections at games.” The cheers are louder, student sections are bigger, and the games are more fun. To make it all the more better, SUA’s teams are winning games.

Ms. Perry (JP) is the facilitator of the new Dawg Squad. JP notes, “This has been the best spirit since 2003 when my spirit squad helped us win the National Volleyball title when I was coaching.” The senior class along with the Dawg Squad has been very supportive of their teams and done an excellent job setting the bar for spirit.

On behalf of these ladies and the senior class, we hope that SUA girls continue to show spirit and support to their teams! Go Bulldogs!
