Spring Fling
There have never been so many Lilly Pulitzer dresses in one room. Ever. Except for maybe at the SUA Senior Tea (we’ll find out in May).

On Sunday, March 26, SUA girls and their guests gathered at Cooper Creek Event Center, some to celebrate one of their last mother-daughter events at SUA, others to celebrate their first, and still others to strut their stuff on the runway (we’re thinking of you, Mrs. Kramer and Mr. Maliborski). The event sold out 8 days before the deadline, resulting in the comfortable cramming of 400 people into the main room, each with her own white-linen-covered chair and a giant yellow tulle ribbon to go on top of it.
The first portion of the event, from noon to 1 pm, allowed guests to roam the center, buying raffle tickets and depositing them into several of the baskets, a few of which included Reds tickets, Stella and Dot products, and more Lilly Pulitzer. The Grand Raffle Baskets included Fun in the City, Get “Selfie” Ready for Summer, Mr. Maliborski’s Shopping Spree, and Mrs. Kramer’s Got a Brand New Bag. Surprise Bag Raffles each contained a “must-have spring accessory” from Leeli and Lou, one of which was an ultra-fashionable pair of socks covered with printed sushi, because if sushi socks don’t scream spring to you, I’m not sure what will.

The second portion of the Spring Fling was the luncheon and the fashion show, which consisted of a casual wear section and a dress wear section. Lilly Pulitzer showed up in both. For the fashion show finale, the senior models each walked the runway with her “surprise dates” to prom (surprise dates meaning dads, and one brother) and released a yellow balloon in turn for a bouquet of yellow flowers. What’s spring at SUA without Lilly dresses and yellow?
